Vottiv Canvassing App Update v4.0

Vottiv Canvassing App Update v4.0

Learn about what's new in Vottiv Canvasser v4.0!

We're excited to announce the latest update to our Vottiv Canvasser app that launched for all users this weekend. We're grateful for all the feedback from our canvassing partners in helping us continue to refine the app and make it the premiere canvassing tool for both campaigns and canvassing firms.

Full Offline Support

The Vottiv Canvasser app now has improved offline support, including all maps, bringing it to full functionality offline. Once the device detects that the canvasser is back online, all of their saved work will be uploaded. This includes the full GPS coordinate path of the canvasser along with all actions taken.

Improved Battery Life

The latest version of Canvasser improves battery life for canvassers by making fewer network requests and detecting areas where cell service is weak.

Improved Multi-unit Housing

The Canvasser now distinguishes between individual households (dots) and multi-unit buildings or complexes (building icons) to help you plan your route more efficiently.

Switch Between Multiple Canvasses

The new Dashboard page makes it easy to quickly switch between canvasses without having to remember the canvass codes or redownload the canvass data

Improved Field Management - Easily Catch Cheaters

Vottiv's field management just got easier for organizations with paid canvassers. Take a look at these two graphics: They show two canvasser's activity. The first canvasser's walking path is visible in yellow. They walked the streets and visited each door. The homes they took an action on are marked as grey or red circles, and the location they were when they took that action is shown as a black dot connected by a dotted line.

We can confirm that this canvasser was close to each home as he marked them off.

A canvasser visiting each door. No cheating.

However, we can easily see that this second canvasser was over a mile away, she didn't walk the streets, and she marked all doors as canvassed from a single location.

A canvasser marking off households from a mile away. Potential cheating.

Campaign managers can find these maps on their dashboard for each canvasser, broken out by day.
